Every Halloween as a kid, my mom would hang up all these antique decorations from the 1940s—you know that classic Halloween style. So this year, I wanted to try my hand at creating my own prints inspired by that vintage Halloween aesthetic.
Costume Party is the result: a set of four prints created using a fully analog, handmade process. I sketched each to scale at 8x10, cut each layer from Rubylith film, and hand-printed the sets on my brand-spankin’-new Accuglide press. This press was a major upgrade for my printing capabilities, and you can really see that improvement in these individual prints. They’re clean, they’re sharp, and they’ve got some solid fields of color. Hope you dig em, because I freaking love them.
Be sure to check out the gold stardream editions! They shine!
I’ll have these for sale in person at Union Craft Brewing’s Creekside Meetup, taking place on Halloween day from 12-5. Be sure to check it out if you’re in Baltimore for Billyween, gonna be a helluva good time.
Costume Party is my latest Halloween offering—hand-drawn, cut, and printed! Interested in the original drawings? Shoot me a message!
